Meet Alex Hooper, executive assistant, London
18th September 2018
Having grown up in the West country and studied a course in public services, Middleton’s newest executive assistant Alex Hooper set her sights on a move to London. She “fell into property”, almost by accident, and while she readily admits that “I don’t spend my evenings reading Property News”, she quickly fell in love with the business – especially in the fast-moving prime London market – and life in the capital.
Alex served her ‘property apprenticeship’ during three years with Hamptons International in rentals. “You need to be able to keep a lot of plates spinning in the lettings side of the business,” says Alex. “And I think that’s been a good grounding for my work with Middleton. Although the buying side is built on relatively few transactions, we still pride ourselves on our eye for detail. We carry out such forensic investigations of each property – the pros and cons of the house itself, the grounds and surrounds. The big picture that emerges is then the result of having pieced together all of the hundreds of pieces of the jigsaw.”
“I’m also really enjoying working in a smaller business, where we can uphold the values of client service that can get lost within the pressures of a big company.”
