Meet Gemma Maclaran, prime property advisor, London

18th April 2019

Gemma Maclaran has property in her blood. “My family have always worked in property,” she says, “and so it was always part of the conversation growing up, and I always felt that I would gravitate to the property world at some point. But the five years I spent working in the City in investor relations gave me fantastic experience, and I’m glad I have that to draw on.”

After working at Smithfield – a specialist capital markets and financial services communications and investor relations agency – Gemma spent seven years at Douglas and Gordon, one of London’s most respected independent estate agents, acquiring a detailed knowledge of prime property in London.

“I think you need to have a really broad grounding in service businesses and to understand the difference between a seller and a buyer in order to be a good property advisor,” says Gemma. “Like many others, I was always interested in the opportunity that the prime market offers, to focus on a smaller number of bespoke deals, and stay with clients for the whole journey.”

“Middleton’s commitment to meticulous service and attention to detail suits my approach, and I’m able to offer our London clients a really detailed knowledge of prime areas such as Kensington and Chelsea, Fulham, London Bridge, Soho, Chiswick.”
