The country house market has entered a new phase, with falling prices and greater negotiating power shifting to buyers. A combination of higher borrowing costs, reduced pandemic demand, and political uncertainty has caused widespread price reductions – in some regions, more than half of rural listings have been cut. While this creates challenges for sellers, it also presents opportunities for well-prepared buyers looking to secure value in prime countryside locations.
