The events of 2020 have encouraged Middleton’s co-founding partners, Tom Hudson and Mark Parkinson to take a serious look at the business and how it has developed, individually and as a team, throughout the pandemic. Mark explains, “For our London office all the reports of the ‘exodus’ from the capital made for an increasingly challenging environment, but the generalised view of the London market hasn’t been representative of the demand for our services”.

As a result, Middleton are delighted to announce that Ashley Wilsdon has been appointed Head of London Buying. Ashley has demonstrated his knowledge and experience of the traditional prime areas over the last 6 years at Middleton. His previous experience in the wider London market has brought invaluable insight into the day-to-day business of Middleton’s London office. He has been responsible for some remarkable transactions, particularly in the last couple of years and the feedback from his clients is always exceptional.

“We are thrilled that Ashley will be taking the London buying business forward. His promotion is thoroughly deserved, and we are excited to see him develop and grow the business in the coming years”.

2020 was an exceptional year for Middleton’s country division. The team purchased £95m worth of property and with demand still dominating the market, alongside the challenging conditions of the pandemic, Ben Horne has been promoted to head the team as they tackle the year ahead.

“It’s a great time for Ben to lead the charge for the country team. He has grown his business significantly over his time at Middleton, especially in the last year. We are looking forward to seeing what Ben brings to the role and the leadership of the team”.

As a result of demand from old clients for lifetime property advice and an increase in new clients looking for high value houses and estates, Tom and Mark have created a new Family Office at Middleton. This will be lead by Tom Hudson who explains, “The family office provides Mark and I with a structure and environment to look after our old clients as well as utilising our contacts to open the doors to the very finest properties there are, over a much larger geography”.
