Launch of London Sales department.
In recent years, our legacy clients have increasingly looked to us for advice when selling their London properties. Having initially offered strategic support on an ad hoc basis, it became apparent that we could best represent our clients, both legacy and new, by formalising the service.
In January 2022 we launched a dedicated London Sales department headed by James Moran. “I think the fact that it’s so many years now since the London sales market could be described as ‘normal’ very much plays to the ‘Middleton way’,” says James.
“Our culture of strategic advice, discretion and local expertise has a real value when there seems to be an almost permanent undercurrent of volatility in the market. Our experience is that achieving the highest or best price in prime central London and the capital’s prime ‘villages’, depends on strategy, not flattery. Strategy is more than just the price at which you go to market, it’s timing, positioning, contacts, identifying the nuances of a particular house, street or area.”
“Since launching we have been instructed on a variety of properties, each with a tailored strategy to suit both client and property. One of these is an exceptional first-floor flat in Belgravia with ambassadorial proportions, that has only been made available privately. Another is a freehold house in Kensington with a rich history – having been in the same family since it was built in 1873 – and a grand reception room with 3.8 metre ceiling heights. The property has enormous character and retains all of the original period features giving the feel of a country house, but in London.”
